Simultaneous Interpreting
Languages: English, French, Italian
Simultaneous interpreting involves transferring a message from the source language into the target language in real time, hence simultaneously. This way, the interpreter reformulates the speech into a language his/her audience understands, making sure the event runs smoothly and without doubling the time required. Simultaneous interpreters usually work in an interpreting booth, though they may also be using a bidule (portable interpretation equipment) or whispering (chuchotage). Simultaneous interpreting is the ideal choice for large, live events, whether online or in-person, for example a conference on cognitive and experimental psychology.
Chuchotage
Languages: English, French, Italian
Chuchotage (whispering) is an interpreting technique that involves whispering the translation into the listener’s ear. This interpreting mode is typically employed when only a very limited group of people (usually one or two people) does not understand the speaker’s language. The speaker’s speech is still translated simultaneously, but there is no need for additional equipment (e.g. a booth). In case of an online event where only a couple of people need a translation, the simultaneous mode described above will be employed.
Consecutive Interpreting
Languages: English, French, Italian
Consecutive interpreters listen to what the speaker says while taking notes. Once the speaker has paused, the interpreter will convey the same message into the language his/her audience understands. Typically, the speaker will pause after each complete thought to give the interpreter time to deliver the message. All the interpreter needs is a notepad and a pen to take notes, and a microphone in case of a large audience. Consecutive interpreting is perfect for gatherings where the conversation allows for pauses to interpret, for example book presentations, meetings and guided tours.
Sight Translation
Sight translation involves the translation of a written text into oral form. When a written text needs to be read aloud in a different language, interpreters use this technique to do so. During a session, an interpreter may sight translate brochures, forms, letters, instructions, or other short documents. Sight translation is typically used in medical settings, schools, corporate settings, or courtrooms, but can also be used during other interpreting services, like linguistic and cultural mediation, should the need arise.

Linguistic and Cultural Mediation
Languages: English, German, French, Italian
Linguistic and/or cultural mediation is a professional service that facilitates understanding and communication between people from different cultures, or between people who simply speak different languages. A cultural mediator is a trained interpreter who is knowledgeable in both cultural contexts, acting as a bridge to interpret language, behaviours, and customs effectively. Linguisic and cultural mediation essentially looks like a conversation with an additional party, the mediator, who enhances cooperation and allows every party involved to speak freely, using a language they know well. This interpreting mode is ideal for both formal and informal contexts, like business negotiations, medical consultations, trade fairs, diplomatic interactions and bureaucratic appointments.
Proofreading
Proofreading means carefully checking for errors in a text before it is published, printed or shared. It is the very last stage of the writing process, and it involves correcting minor spelling, punctuation, or grammar mistakes, typos, formatting issues and inconsistencies. It requires a very high level of accuracy and a keen eye, and it is essential for any text that will be shared with an audience, whether it is an academic paper, a verbatim transcription from a court reporter, a job application, an online article, or a flyer. As it is virtually impossible to proofread your own writing, it can be helpful to turn to a professional proofreader. Proofreading adds that final touch of quality to any document, it strengthens your credibility and it can help prevent potentially embarrassing or costly mistakes.

Subtitling
Subtitles may vary by media, format, or audience. Subtitling is not just about transcribing dialogue; it is about knowing well-defined rules, while drawing on creativity and experience. Likewise, audiovisual translation requires much more attention to details than other kinds of translation, and it is important to know the rules and restrictions that go hand in hand with audiovisual texts if one wants to offer effective, correct, and useful subtitles in another language.

Transcription
Languages: English, German, French, Italian
A transcription is a written record of an oral text. Transcriptions are often requested for market research purposes, interviews (e.g., podcast, radio, or television interviews), group discussions, court cases, legal processes, medical research or any kind of conference. Transcription can be a very time-consuming task, that requires a deep knowledge of a given language, its grammatical rules, punctuation and vocabulary. In fact, auto-generated transcripts often fall short of the accuracy rates required to meet fidelity and accessibility standards, and always require to be checked for errors and inconsistencies. That is why getting the help of a professional can save you time and provide accurate, high-quality results.
